# LEMONCHAIN Introduction

> Lemonchain is an open data ecosystem that enhances the individual patients' healthcare data authority by decentralizing EMR (electronic medical record) with blockchain technology. Lemonchain constructs a system that ensures individuals access and utilizes their own healthcare data. This system can reduce information asymmetry between individual patients and medical institutions and participating in the LEMONCHAIN ecosystem.
